Deleting images

I have set up a site for a photographer who wanted to show all the images taken at shoots, to her clients. This is working well but within a few months the images need to be removed and replaced sometimes a shoot can contain several hundred shots, This is proving difficult. Does anyone know of any plugins that add a tick box to all images in the library and then a drop down to delete groups of images together? Is there any reason why the images library is treated differently from say the articles area?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Re: Deleting images

Sadly there is no solution to that problem, images need to be deleted one by one.

I bet, a programmer could make a little fortune by creating such a plugin and selling it for a small fee ;-)

Re: Deleting images

I’d rather fix this in TXP itself, similar to how it works in the articles tab.

Yes, that would be preferable. :-)
Also changing the category of multiple images at once would be handy to have.

Re: Deleting images

Unless there are objections from the other developers (wet, Sencer) or good reasons not to change this, this is something I’d like to fix for TXP 4.0.7.

Re: Deleting images

This would be fantastic!!

When is it likely that TXP 4.0.7 will be available, so that I can let my client know? I will then find an interim solution in the meantime?

Re: Deleting images

We seem to have a 6 month release cycle and 4.0.6 was released early February this year. I don’t expect a new release in the next few months unless we uncover some critical security bug.

Re: Deleting images

Similar behaviour between the major tabs – based on the Article tab – would be ideal and a real move in the right direction for TXP.

Re: Deleting images

Just one other small change would again be a big advance for TXP image handling. The single column page is a very bad design. Its inefficient, wastes white space, and makes anyone with a lot of images (like me) have to do large amounts of scrolling.

It was one of the suggestions I made at the Improving Image Management discussion and it seems to me it should be quite easy to do this, ie. set maybe 4 image columns on the page not just one.
