Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] vdh_flickr
I’ve just uploaded a new version that features captions in lightboxes and which does not have the previous/next bug any more, which was indeed caused by an integer overflow.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] vdh_flickr
Furthermore, I have moved the project to Google Code. I have not been very active with vdh_flickr recently, and most probably won’t be in the future. So anyone who wants SVN-access to improve this plugin, please contact me.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] vdh_flickr
Thanks Ralph for the latest update that fixed the prev/next error for me as well.
Just one idea: I think sgb_url… is no longer supported and had its issues anyway. It seems to me that gbp_permanent_links is a much more robust clean-URL plugin. Any chance of vdh_flickr working with that one instead of sgb_…?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] vdh_flickr
I have been wanting to implement gbp_permanent_links support since over a year, I think, but somehow I just didn’t find the time or feel the urge to do so. That’s why it is uncertain whether I will ever do this, but I will give svn access to anyone with time on his/her hands.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] vdh_flickr
Hi i’ve edited this plugin a little bit (actually not much at all) and used it with Shadowbox and Mootools to keep everything on the one page. The thumbnail page’s runtime was taking over 11 seconds just to query flickr, because it had to find 200+ pics, so i used a bit of ajax. check it out http://coconetclassic.net.au/gallery
big thanks larf, great plugin, very well coded!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] vdh_flickr
dazonic, that looks pretty cool. Is it possible to obtain the same or similar function using jQuery instead of mooTools since jQuery is already included in Textpattern?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] vdh_flickr
Definitely possible with JQuery.
Each ‘expand this gallery’ link is a permlink to a thumbnails preview. <txp:vdh_flickr_thumbnails tags="kiteboarding,2007" tag_and="1" thumbnails_form="thumbnails_list" />
On event click, The JS essentially
- stops the operation
- extracts the link’s href (permlink)
- ajax loads that href into a div

I need a cookbook for how-to use vdh_flickr + jQuery + some Shadowbox or other ‘lightbox’ functions.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] vdh_flickr
:) thanks.
Gallery list: http://coconetclassic.net.au/gallery/2008
If you right click on ‘Expand this gallery’ and open it in a new tab, you might get a better understanding how i did it.
Kiteboarding gallery, ajax loads this page: http://coconetclassic.net.au/thumbnails/2008-kiteboarding
I’m sorry, i’m not very good at explaining. You can email me anytime – dazonic@gmail.com, i’d be happy to help

dazonic No personal messages please. I believe these points are valuable for everybody here.
If you are good in explaining or not doesn’t really matter :)
You realized something nice and I would be glad to know how it is done and how it could be done easily with the core Textpattern capabilities.
More questions to come later…
