Is there any ajax calendar plugin?

Hi all:

I just discovered Textpattern. On Wordpress I´m using a wonderful plugin called EventCalendar (http://wpcal.firetree.net/). I checked in textpattern there is a plugin zem_event to get something similar, but the calendar is not loaded via ajax.

See the example in the url http://wpcal.firetree.net/, is there any similar solution for Textpattern?

Thanks!

Re: Is there any ajax calendar plugin?

Hi MattD:

On http://wpcal.firetree.net, on the small calendar, go to October 2007, and place the mouse over the highlighted day.

Thank you!

Do you just need the nice titles on mouse-over or do you need to have the months to be loaded without reloading the page as well?

Well, both would be desired, specially having the months without reloading the page.

Re: Is there any ajax calendar plugin?

I’m not sure if it’ll work in this instance, but I’m writing a generic ajax plugin that can be targetted at specific URLs or suites of URLs. Thus the plan is to be able to ajaxify anything from single links to whole sites. In theory you could tell it to only ajaxify stuff sent to a particular section that held your calendar events or months. Like I say I don’t know if it’ll work with zem_event but I’ll certainly test it because that functionality would be very handy for my record label site.

The plugin’s working pretty well now, albeit in a limited form, but the fact that jQuery removes all scripts from an ajax-delivered page is causing me a major headache so it’s not ready for prime time until I solve that nugget. It works perfectly on all browsers except IE; put any script on the page and deliver it to IE and the browser hangs for anything up to a minute while it sods about.

So, though I don’t know of any native way of doing the calendar features you’re after yet, I wanted to let you know there may be a glimmer of light if you’re prepared to wait a bit. Can’t promise anything, but I’ll sure as hell try :-)
