Re: [Archived] bit_rss
Maniqui – did you ever get simplepie working?
even after downloading plugin again, I get the error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method SimplePie::set_feed_url() in \textpattern\lib\txplib_misc.php(508) : eval()’d code on line 14
are there any other rss-feed solutions?

Re: [Archived] bit_rss
I tried with the latest version of simplepie.inc … and the most recent Simplepie plugin. Would like to know if anyone has this combination working with 4.0.5 and PHP 5+.
Sorry – this is the wrong thread to post in.

I recently used a this jQuery plugin… And you could skip jQuery altogether and use the Google code directly.
I personally have had no probs with BitRss, and opt to use that for most things… Additionally, the above is a JS solution, so not optimal if users have JS turned off.
Anyway, just thought I would mention.

Re: [Archived] bit_rss
I just installed the plugin. It works fine, but I get the following message in testing status (once for each feed item):
Tag error: <txp:bit_rss feed=“http://www.cofe.anglican.org/news/news.rss”/> -> Textpattern Notice: tag is deprecated on line 2589
I’m presuming that this is connected to the update to TextPattern 4.06, as a quick Google search shows I’m not the only one getting it.

Sven, thanks for the suggestion, I gave it a look but it seemed far more complicated than bit_rss.
For now I think I’ll stick with bit_rss which – apart from the error when in debug mode – works without problems with status=live.

Re: [Archived] bit_rss
Heya together,
i use the bit_rss-Plugin and it works great. I have only one little problem: I grab a feed from a site, which i’ve also build with textpattern. I parse via <txp:bit_rss /> only the titles of the articles. The problem is, when there ist a “&” in the title of an article, bit_rss parse the following HTML-code: “&”. For example, when somebody write “Mergers&Acquisitions” in the title of an article, bit_rss parse “Mergers&Acquisitions” in the site. The result is, that on the site will be displayed “Mergers&Acquisitions”.
Have anyone an idea, how I can fix this? Thanks for help.
