Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
Thanks, Ruud. I’ll add this to my growing list of “plugins I should work on Real Soon Now.” If someone else gets to it first, then so much the better. :-)

Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
These are probably obvious answers but I still need to ask…
1. Is there a way to tell ZCR a field has been flagged with an error so that it can be given the error class?
2. Other than checking for a specific error message within $zem_contact_error is there a way to see if a field has already triggered an error message?
I’m working on an unsubscribe function and I’m using my “preflight” function to compare a provided email address with the email addresses within a db. (I want to verify the address actually exists within the db before removing that subscriber.) I want ZCR to ensure the user has supplied a valid email address and, if so, I want to see if that email address exists within my db. In the event that an invalid email address is provided an error would be triggered by ZCR as well as my preflight function but I don’t want to return two error messages.
EDIT:
By the way, Ruud, thanks for the tip. The ability to do some preflight checks is amazing!

Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
- yes, see the plugin help, specifically the part about styling. When an error occurs, that field gets a different class.
- not inside ZCR, so you’d have to remove duplicate errors manually by checking the error array.

Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
For the answer to number 1, I think I wasn’t clear in the phrasing of the question. To keep using my example of looking for an email address, is it possible for ZCR to pass the address as valid but for my preflight to flag it with an error because it didn’t exist in the db? I understand ZCR’s ability to give a field the error class but is it possible for my preflight function to do the same? At this point I don’t see how I can do anything more than adding a message to $zem_contact_error. I don’t see how it’s possible for my function to add the error class to a field if ZCR passes it as error free.

Hmm.. you’re right, that isn’t possible without hacking the plugin.

Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
At this point it’s not worth it for me to hack around with ZCR. My current use for this preflight functionality is pretty basic and I think what I have now is going to do just fine. Thanks again for the tip.

Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
Hello,
I hope I am posting this in the right place.
I’m using Zem Contact Reborn. In addition to sending the form submissions to one of my email addresses, I would also like to bcc the submissions to a different email address too.
How do I set up the bcc with Zem Contact Reborn?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Smaavi, the easiest way is to edit the plugin and add the header yourself, which is relatively easy once you’ve found where the other exising headers are.

Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
As I was looking for ways for a preflight function to check for the existence of specific ZCR errors I wondered about the possibility of giving the error message array actual key names. For example, one of the error lines within the email function might look like:
$zem_contact_error[$name."_invalid_email"] = zem_contact_gTxt('invalid_email', htmlspecialchars($email));
instead of:
$zem_contact_error[] = zem_contact_gTxt('invalid_email', htmlspecialchars($email));
Is this a valid approach (and a possible addition to the ZCR code) or are there problems that I’m overlooking?

Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
Hi
I’ve been using zem_contact_reborn for contact forms and it has been working perfectly until my hosting company upgraded from PHP4 to PHP5. Does anyone know if there are any issues that could be related to this upgrade that prevent the form from working? The form appears to send normally but the email never arrives at its destination.
thanks

Re: zem_contact_reborn 4.0.3.20
Create a file called mail.php, containing the following code, upload it to your webspace and visit it using your browser. If that doesn’t send email either, first look at the web server error log files. If they don’t reveal anything, contact your webhost and ask them to look at the mail server log files.
<?php mail('your_email_address', 'the subject', 'the message'); echo 'mail sent'; ?>

Have you tried using the compressed plug-in code?
