Hmm . . . What platform are you using this on? *nix or Windows? I can’t replicate the problem, but I’ll try experimenting with it some more. Are you still using the tag like above? What permanent link mode are you using (not that it should matter)? What version of TXP are you running? PHP version?

Most importantly, are you using this within a single article form?

Sorry for the slew of questions, but it seems to work fine on my end with a variety of permlink modes. The only thing I haven’t tested this version with is Windows. Windows tends to interpret the server PHP variables differently.

Has anyone used this successfully with Gmail? When I click the link, it opens a compose window, but the message never transfers (though it stalls as though it’s loading for a long time).

Wow. I’ve never tested this with Gmail. Are you able to click other “mailto:” links and get them to work with Gmail? What platform are you using? Windows? Mac? If you have it setup properly as an email client and it works with other web site mailto links, it should work with this plugin unless it is malfunctioning and not returning a valid mailto link.

It was working on neme.org but with the current tags you are able to achieve the plugin’s functionality using:

<a href="mailto:?subject=<txp:page_title />&amp;body="<txp:page_title />" on http://yoursite.com<txp:page_url /> might be of interest to you">Email article link</a>

As colak points out, you don’t anymore need this plugin, that only adds mailto link :-) Core tags can do it.

Yup, it’s a vintage plugin and even though I wrote it I don’t think (I can’t really remember) if it does too much that you can’t do now with standard tags as Gocom and Colak point out. Still, I realized I took it off the server during a host transfer recently. I’ll put it back up in case someone finds using the plugin is easier than stringing together their own links. It may also have a feature or two that might be hard to attain with the core tags.

Also, please check out Zem Contact Reborn which gives you email form functionality if you need something beyond a mailto link.
