imo the large images, used in the lightbox are too small and certainly too compressed. there are some really nasty jpeg-artifacts. not the best way to present the nice photographic work… for example the portrait of berlie doherty on the front page doesn’t look too good at that compression.

other than these issues, site looks clean and easy to navigate. only the diagonal stripes in the header don’t make so much sense to me.

Thanks for the comment Sven.

I appreciate there are artifacts on the the carousel images and thanks for pointing it out, but the others seem not too bad to me. I’ll get round to redoing the carousel versions at some point, adding a carousel was a bit of an afterthought.

I think the size of the lightbox images are OK though, I reckoned that much bigger and the photos (esp. portrait orientated) won’t sit very comfortable on a monitor of 1152×864 or smaller, forcing a lot of people to scroll to see them properly.
