Any chance of something like this being integrated somehow into Textpattern?

I know there have been bookmarklets in the past, one that basically opened the whole Write Tab and I do see that the asv_tumblelog plugin has one.

How could we go about implementing something like this? A completely new page? Is this even possible?

I am not sure about adding it to the core, but it is definitely possible as a plugin. I’d be willing to write something like that.
