Auto archiving posts?
Hello, i hope you can help! – I’ve got several questions but i’ll split them into different posts…
I’m currently building a txp site which will be a gig-guide of sorts. It’ll show different club-nights and info about them. It’s more of a learning exercise than anything else, and i’ve learnt a fair bit so far :)…
The current front page shows 9 forthcoming events. It also shows the event name & the event date. This all appears to be working nicely. However, it shows past, present & future events. Now if you visit a gig-guide, you dont want to see old events.
So i’d like old events to be automatically archived. Can this be done? either by only showing events in the future, or by moving all old events to another section (i.e.; history).
Each event has it’s actual ‘event date’ entered in a custom field if that’ll help matters?

Re: Auto archiving posts?
Use the time="future"
attribute in your <txp:article /> tag. See Textbook

Re: Auto archiving posts?
Ruud, thanks pal :) The Textbook page should of been my first stop.. school boy error on my part :)
Edit: Reading it, does this mean that each event, i should change the “post-date” to the event date?

Re: Auto archiving posts?
Yes, for a calendar, the actual post date is not very relevant, so setting the post date to the event date makes more sense.
