Remove some advanced options?

Anyone know which file I need to hack to remove/hide some of the advanced options from the write tab?

Cheers

Re: Remove some advanced options?

No file, you’ll have to edit the txp_prefs table. Look at the scripts in the update folder, one of them hides a few preferences by setting a column value to 0 (or something like that). That way, the preference is still there, but not visible to the user.

Must learn to read. I saw ‘advanced’, assumed you meant advanced preferences.

Re: Remove some advanced options?

I looked in all the files but nothing stud out that would let me hide:
Article markup
Excerpt markup
Override form
Keywords

I couldn’t get it to work properly with 405 so it probably won’t work with 406. Do you have it working?

Re: Remove some advanced options?

Well it works a bit; some it hides, some it doesn’t and some it says it hides but it doesn’t. I remember that when I looked into hiding parts if the write tab a few years ago I ended up hacking a file and putting hidden divs around bits I wanted to remove.

Specifically ied_hide_in_admin doesn’t hide:
Article markup
Excerpt markup
Override form
Keywords

Re: Remove some advanced options?

hmm thats odd. it hides all of those for me. just as a test i went and hid the fields you mentioned using the plugin (meta_desc is a custom field):

Re: Remove some advanced options?

lee,
ied_hide_in _admin works well for me. The only thing is I have to check and save one option at a time in the preferences tab of the plugin.
I had to proceed this way with txp 4.04, 4.05 and 4.06 and it always worked for me. Hope it helps…
