Hey, Im completely new to textpattern...
Hey everyone, Im a wannabe pro web designer, although im pretty young atm and still at school (17). I would like to get into CMS as the majority of my clients havent a clue on how to update their websites, so in turn always ask me to do it for them. I dont mind the odd update for them, but when theres say 8 clients all asking for updates at once It is a pain for me to update each website.
Sites of my clients are:
www.jakkimoore.com
www.moorearts.co.uk
www.millholmehouse.com
www.cleanenergysolutions.co.uk
My own website is: www.paulmillar.net
Now, looking at my websites, would textpattern be the best way to convert those designs into a cms system? Would i also be able to keep those designs while still using textpattern? Would the process of converting this be easy, and would my clients (with no html knowledge) be able to edit their websites once it was all set up and running?

As for my more specific question, I am currently trying to convert my own website into textpattern. My own website is a simple page layout without a blog or article area, so how would I make the little sub-sections like design and web hosting etc editable from the admin? Is it possible to use the article creator to do this or would it be best if I used forms? Either way I have no idea on how to do this, and once set up no idea on how to edit it easily.
Could someone help me out?
Help would be very much appreciated…
Thanks!

Without looking at your websites, the answer is probably ‘yes’.
I suggest you try instaling Textpattern (not textpad) and experiment a bit with it to see what it can do.

Thanks for the quick reply,
I have installed it, but am finding it a bit complex to use – particularly around the area of defining what an article and what a form is on my own personal website :S

article = content
page + forms = layout, structure.

Re: Hey, Im completely new to textpattern...
so can put an article inside a form?
Eg, if you look on my site (www.paulmillar.net) there are little sections. I would create these sections in a form and put the articles inside them?

a form is used to specify how an article (or other element) should be displayed.
