TXP Core code has a hit counter?

Hello brains. Saw the wlk_helpful thread by the way before posting this question. It looks great but doesn’t act retroactively. So getting to what I need would take a year or so.

My audience seems to not like Commenting, e-mailing or much of anything. But they visit. Before I get to the meat of the question, does the TXP core code have a counter that’s silently able to count hits to articles?

Re: TXP Core code has a hit counter?

Okay, I’ll go with that – to plugin authors: My webiste is a moderate flop for now and I’m okay with that. I have plenty of time to examine things – pages with top hit counts are already doing fine; pages with lowest hit counts don’t matter anyway. I’m hoping that someday soon, I’ll be able to display Articles of Average Popularity.

It’s like sticking attention right back to articles that were liked but might have needed another chance to be seen once off the index roll of 5 or 10 articles. If some TXP code knew the most hits (perhaps minus an integer), the zero hits (perhaps plus an integer) and then grabbed X number in the middle to display in the sidebar, I think it would be brilliant.

I’ll use the linked Sort method for now – thanks!
