User documenation

Hi there,

Before I go and create something that might already exist, are there any simple guides available for end users of textpattern?

Thanks

Re: User documenation

I found this http://textpattern.org/tutorials/131/guide-for-textpattern-authors-end-users , but there isn’t much out there. That one you have to pay $9 for seems better, but a bit bloated.

Surely when anyone develops a txp site they must provide some training and/or documentation to the client? So there must be potentially 100’s of similar documents around…

Really what would be great is a document in plain english, that details the basics of maintaining a Textpattern site from a user point of view. Even better if it was clearly broken down into sections so the document could easily be added to or customized depending on the site you build.

In the spirit of open source I’ll post what I create when its done, but it would be great of someone could give me a headstart :)

There’s also this one from Simon Wakeman.

Re: User documenation

For end users, I think Simon Wakeman’s was the best, if I remember correctly (it’s been awhile). You can find a few posts on txphelper. txp manual is out, but it’s not a complete reference.

For my own clients, I do provide documentation in the form of text and screencasts. The only problem is they’re specific to sites and pretty simple (i.e. “To make your article appear in X, do this.”).
