disable comment moderation?

I’ve inherited a client site. They want comment moderation removed. I’ve informed them of the likeliness of spam, but they don’t care (for now). However, while I see where comments can be enabled/disabled, I don’t see any settings regarding moderation. Is there either a global or per article setting? I assume moderation is part of txp, and not being accomplished by one of the plugins they have.

It’s under Admin > Preferences (Basic), look under ‘Comments’: Moderate comments? yes/no.

Hrmmm… not seeing that. They are running 4.0.1. Is it not an option in that version? Is there a DB setting I can toggle?

I have these options for basic:

Site name ?
Site URL ?
Site tagline ?
Use Textile ?
Logging ?
Accept comments no yes ?
Date format ?
Archive date format ?
Permanent link mode ?
Daylight Savings no yes ?
Time Zone ?
Production Status

update txp_prefs set val=0 where name=‘comments_moderate’ ;

It has always been an option as far as I know. Maybe it was in another location at the time. By the way, you really should upgrade :)
