loading index.html before index.php
I’ve tried a few different things, modding the htaccess file, but so far, haven’t been able to get index.html to load before index.php.
Is there a special trick that I need to do when it comes to textpattern?
at this point, I’m back to the stock htaccess file that came with 4.0.6

If it does not work, sometimes I use a solution that involves a small hack in the index.php file, email me for details.

again, i’d suggest using rvm_maintenance — that way you can work on the site while other visitors see the splash page.

Re: loading index.html before index.php
question…
i’ve done this two ways (haven’t tried that rvm plugin yet)… using the above htaccess contents, then creating a “splash” page and using it as default.
both ways work fine… sort of. the problems that i’ve run into vary in annoyingness…
- in both cases, i have to change the “home” links to the to match the section i want the viewers to see first…
- when i search, it trys to use the default page, in both cases… trying to use the splash page.
here is the blog, you’ll see what i mean when you try and search (just hitting enter and ignoring live search)
^ this is with the modded htaccess file…
