[mention] CMS study case
There is an interesting article written in French at this address :
http://www.synergies-publiques.fr/IMG/pdf/PLUME_Choix_Drupal.pdf
in which there is a study case comparing some actual CMS, including Textpattern.
It is written there that the activity of the Textpattern community is decreasing and that TXP “seems” to be kind of an obsolete CMS.
As a long time user of TXP, i was of course surprised to read this
Did those guys really came by here? This forum gives me the opposite opinion…
Well…
Stéphane.

Re: [mention] CMS study case
i think many people tend to point to this article the state of textpattern followed by all the comments pertaining to it when they refer to the activity surrounding TXP’s future. Some points valid, some not.

Today, I learnt this: Fear,_uncertainty_and_doubt (via a Mary’s comment on TxPQ)

A lot of people equate releases to activity. I personally like the fact that there isn’t a new TXP release every month.

Re: [mention] CMS study case
yes
it has been said that Textpattern is a web designer’s CMS – and Dean’s vision was certainly an application that got you publishing smartly FAST – so I appreciate the care and consideration taken to keep releases stable and solid… esp. when Txp is the engine for a string of sites, and time is money
also I think Txp 4.0.x is a mature product, with all the benefits of that and of course some drawbacks (teaching old dogs new tricks)

Wordpress 2.3 was released on September 25th. It was announced on October 26th that WordPress Adds Atom:Link to RSS Feeds as of version 2.4, then scheduled for December. That version was cancelled and 2.5 is either scheduled for March or April.
Textpattern 4.0.6 included Atom:Link without the fanfare that WP got. :)
