Frontpage empty / clean url failed
Hi all,
I created my site in a subdomain. The problem i had there was the the frontpage is empty while i selected on of my sections to publish on the front-page. I hoped this would be solved when i swith to the root domain. Unfortunately this is not what happend. I still have a blank front-page and when i look at the diagnostics i get a Clean Url test fail message. When i developed the site in the subdomain the Clean URL message wasn’t shown.
I hope somebody can help me with this problem.

Yes it is the site in my profile. Tonight i set the status on debug and take a look for myself, when i can’t figure out what it is, i post it here.

You should turn charset from iso-8859-1 to UTF-8 as Textpattern uses it ;) To avoid unknown characters etc.
And what becomes to the content – there just isn’t any content for frontpage. There is only navigation and header – and that’s it, everything else is for another sections – inside <txp:if_section> conditionals — Expect that there is <txp:article status="sticky" form="single" /> on frontpage. But it should have id of the article selected.
I hope somebody can help me with this issue.

Maarten, it looks like it’s this tag: <txp:article status="sticky" form="single" /> that is not displaying anything. Are you sure that the sticky article(s) you want to display is/are in a section that is set to appear on the front page?

That is not necessary. The article tag you have should display all sticky articles in sections that are set to be displayed on the front page.
Edit: if it’s just one particular article that you need to show, you can also use <txp:article_custom id="123" />.

I found the problem about the front page. Thanks for all the help. I still have the error message about the clean-url test.

I changed the charset from iso-8859-1 to UTF-8 but i still have the clear-url error message. I hope somebody can help me with this problem.

Clean URLs work, don’t they? I shouldn’t worry too much if I were you ;) But if you want to know more about this message, you’d better post in Troubleshooting I think.

As ruud points out, if clean urls work, there’s no need to look at the clean urls test in diagnostics ;) possibly problem with requesting file with HTTP, which causes the test fail, when actually clean urls work.
