Ticker for main articles
I’m currently looking for something similar to the “tickers” or slideshow-type scrollers that are on espn ( http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/ncf/index scroll down to “spotlight” on left) and ncaa ( http://www.ncaasports.com/ on left side) websites. I haven’t found one, so unless someone knows of a similar plugin, I’ll have to try to construct one out of html, php, or java.

I don’t know any Textpattern plugins that change the content – but there is several slideshow plugins that could easily be modified to do that. In other hand you could use prototype.js and frotator plugin for it. That does exatly same as that espn slideshow, but with out that heavy flash.
Also other javascript libraries like jquery, contain several plugins that do that kind of things.

Sounds good. I’ll give the javascript and frotator a try if I can’t get this DHTML script to give me what I want. I would just use Macromedia and throw something together, but, of course, I can’t always depend on whether or not the visitors are flash-ready, not to mention how long it takes for me to do that stuff, lol.
