Re: Feedback to: Help us test the release candidate for the upcoming 4.0.6

If config.php wasn’t recognized, you’d get database errors, because the username/password was unknown. Did that happen?

No, Textpattern (here /index.php) said your config.php is missing or corrupt, install textpattern here. I could even login Backend-side without errors.

Your diagnostics show that your tables are using a latin1 charset, so config.php should specify a dbcharset set to latin1. Does your config.php contain a dbcharset parameter and have you tried setting it to latin1?

That worked, thank you. But I don’t know if that was the case in the pre-4.0.6 config.php.

Where do you see the ugly characters, only on the text that is part of textpattern (like “Temporäres Verzeichnis:”) or also in the articles you wrote?

They where literally everywhere.

Thank you again!

Strange. The 4.0.6 upgrade doesn’t touch config.php

If you replace the complete textpattern folder instead of it’s contents, then you’ll loose config.php. Maybe that’s what happened?

Hi.
I haven’t tested this RC yet, and not sure if I would be able to.
But I would like to know if this ¿bug? is already fixed on the RC.

Robin, I’ll try to include an updated version.

Julián, that should be fixed, emphasis on ‘should’.

Not actually a bug report, but a feature request, that I think would make sense.

The possibility for the link tag to be used as a container tag too.

regards, marios

Sorry, feature requests one day before release… that’s not possible to fulfill.

Yay!
I bet you’d rather have had this over and done with before this weekend ;)
