SEO: .co.uk or .fr?
I have a customer who wants a site to sell properties in France and his target buyer audience is people living in the UK. People in the UK probably use google.co.uk or google.com when searching for properties to buy in France. From a search engine indexing perspective and to be more easily found by people searching Google in the UK would the customer be better with a .co.uk site?
Any thoughts and theories much appreciated.
Cheers

Re: SEO: .co.uk or .fr?
I think, a .co.uk site will have slight advantages for a client searching from her location in the UK. I experience that .at domains rank higher in google.at than in google.de from my location in Austria even for the same query.

No doubt .co.uk and a server located in the UK is preferable.
You could have good rankings for a .fr in the UK if it has many backlinks from .co.uk top levels.
Since most of the people in the UK use google.co.uk it will rank better for a .co.uk domain then for a .fr
