IRC Notes: We spent a good portion of the day discussing the pros and cons of a BSD licensed Crockery branch. Ruud brought up an interesting point: For example, if TXP is forked and the fork uses GPL, the fork can take from BSD TXP, but not the other way around. If Ruud is correct in his assumption, then the core devs need to talk.

IRC Notes: Mary came by yesterday and she was kind enough to answer questions about the License Change – Textpattern 4.1.x goes BSD weblog posting that Zem made almost 2 years ago. As of now, Crockery is still GPL, but soon those that have contributed patches will be contacted so that they can approve a license change.

Hey Steve,

The activity starts up a varied times but when the west coast wakes up, things get interesting. So it’s pretty active from 11:00am EST till around 5:00pm when everybody takes a break for dinner and/or activities. There are a few late nighters, Gocom and iblastoff come to mind, they’re going to sleep when I arrive in the morning. My advice, sign on and say hi, see if anyone is awake.

IRC Notes: Quiet day, I guess everybody was catching up on the analog side of things. The more I hang out on IRC, the more I learn about the Textpattern core. Discussions between participants is very educational, I may not understand it all and my head feels like it’s going to explode, but it’s the best way to learn, from others.

IRC Notes: It was game day in the States, congrats to the Pats and Giants. Spent the day cooking, drinking and watching football, didn’t get a chance to be active on IRC. I did keep my client running and I’d check in when I had the chance, this morning I caught up with the log files. While I was entertaining friends and family, it felt like that on IRC, longtime friends and family of TxP were dropping by to say hi, kinda wonder why we didn’t do this sooner, a friendly community hangout that is.
