broad question
I have a broad kinda question – any ideas appreciated:
would a forum like this function in txp like a giant series of comments?
what about something like ‘craig’s list’? could you achieve something like that with txp?
again – just vague questions…

textpattern is not designed to be a community tool. for something like craigslist you can look into another cms like drupal. as for your other question i don’t really understand what you mean but if you want to make a forum there are better options than textpattern(ie this forum is done with PunBB software)

For a forum, you can check out the bab_forum plugin (or the upcoming rah_forum). IMO, it’s better to use dedicated forum software like PunBB or Vanilla.
For craigslist, I’m sure it’s possible – self-register users, allow them to post articles (=classifieds), etc – but the backend wouldn’t be that easy to use for Joe Schmoe to sell his lawnmower. For craigslist, I’d custom build it.
