Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Lee
thank you.
All
Version 0.2 should make an appearance soon after Gerhard finishes the next glz_custom_fields
. They should play together very nicely.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Very neat.
I have an oddity for you:
I’ve installed the plugin, gone through each section under Presentation > Sections and made my selections and saved them, and finally checked them. Everything is working as expected — awesome! However, the last section under Presentation > Sections does not have the new fields. Every other section has them, and it works great, but the last one does not.
Here’s a screenshot (there are about 10 more sections above these two, all with the new options):

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
All
Ben’s problem above has been successfully overcome — I’ll be working on a fix for it in the code after 0.2 is released. If anyone else get’s the same problem, it’s because of the single quote (apostrophe) in the section title field. Get rid of them and all is well.
Edited to add: If you really need to keep them, try this…
- Delete them for now.
- Refresh the page — you should now see the missing controls for that section.
- Make your changes then put the apostrophe back.
- Now save the section.

Today I woke up pedantic so I can’t avoid to bother you again with a question: the two plugins are going to remain separated (and work well together) or is sed_section_fields going to be integrated in glz_custom_fields?

What happens if you get out on the other side of the bed? <grin>

My communication with Gerhard was only ever along the lines of quickly getting sed_section_fields & glz_custom_fields to the point where section_fields could hide glz_custom_fields. This has been achieved.
You’d need to ask Gerhard what he plans to do about making his plugin do hiding of fields on its own accord — I really don’t know. He’s welcome to use any of sed_section_fields’ code if he so wishes as it’s all GPL’d.
I have no plans to see this plugin die by getting subsumed within glz_custom_fields: there is some more non-custom-field stuff I want to do with it. So I think you’ll see sed_section_fields even if Gerhard does do custom field hiding in his own plugin.

perhaps i’m misunderstanding but are you saying sed_section_fields can hide custom fields created by glz_custom_fields now? or do you mean the communication has started?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Steve and Steve
If I understand correcly the two plugins will remain indipendent and will work well together.
That’s exactly what I was wishing. Thanks!!
