Converting my HTML site to TextPattern
Hello all,
I have made this site and it is currently in HTML.
I just want to ask that whether I can achieve this or not :-
http://epastudents.org/mdg/propforsale.php
User can add-delete the “properties” with the Images and then ultimately relate it with the description (See “Read More”).
My enduser has no experience of HTML, so do you think that I would be able to make a robust solution out of textpattern. I would be thankful for any suggestion both within textpattern or any other CMS.
Thank you very much for your time.
Regards,
Faisal Khan.

Re: Converting my HTML site to TextPattern
Textpattern seams perfect. Each property is an article. So is each service. Your client will just have to learn basic textile syntax (h2.
, "links":http…
,…)

i don’t see why not. each property is an article with custom fields of size, location, price. all within an excerpt that links to the full article (read more).
somewhat similar setup done with textpattern except theres no ‘read more’ to a full article but that could have been added easily.

Re: Converting my HTML site to TextPattern
One other thing that I am really concerned about is the usage of Image uploading with an article. Like for example, here the image(s) with one property entry.
With a simple Textpattern Textbox, I can only write HTML to make my user write the URL of the image and then style it according to my template.
Is it not any way, that he just upload the image, and write the description and then an entry in the article is made. I just hope there is some such kind of extension …

Re: Converting my HTML site to TextPattern
Yes that’s what the article_image field is done for. Your client only has to type the id of the image. There are a number of plugins that allow you to customize how the image(s) are displayed. Like upm_image.
