Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
Works on my install of Textpattern version: 4.0.5 (r2750).

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
Version 0.4 of the plugin should work on a recent 4.0.x SVN revision (yes, I’ve tested it ;)
Crockery is not near a release so I’m not writing plugins for it.

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
Thanks for the plugin and for the clarification. I’ll try again with my site, but it seems to always give a 503 message with 0.4.
Should I try removing all cookies, logging off and back in or something too?

typeshig, try deleting your TXP cookies, login again, and force a page reload when trying to view your site.

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
It was just a matter of clearing the old cookies and logging in again.
It works except not with asy_dashboard.
You login and get the normal admin tabs at the top, but the 503 error message right below. The tabs work and you can see the other screens just fine.
Disable asy_dashboard and the 503 message upon login goes away and it works as expected.
Just FYI… This didn’t happen with the 0.3 version.

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
I can’t get it to work anymore. Using TXP 4.0.5 and plugin version 0.3. I’ve tried everything, cleared the cache, deleted the cookies, logged out and in again, all this in every order I could think of. I keep getting the 503 page :(
I’m using Firefox (Linux), the same happens in Konqueror.

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
On a brand new untouched install of 4.05 I get these error messages at the top of the public page:
Warning: tag does not exist in /users/home/domains/website.com/web/public/textpattern/publish.php on line 973
Warning: tag does not exist in /users/home/domains/website.com/web/public/textpattern/publish.php on line 973
Then below:
503 Service Unavailable
Site maintenance in progress. Please check back later.
EDIT: Thanks iblastoff

Just for your information Ruud, version 0.3 works fine for me with an SVN install and FF/ PC. I have no idea why Matthew was having a problem with it. Maybe Safari/Mac?

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
Wondering if there is any chance of getting this to work with mac/safari? I only ever get the maintenance page when logged in.
Thanks very much

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
Els, I use Firefox/Linux. Works fine for me. The important part, especially with v0.3 (v0.4 is less strict, but requires TXP 4.0.6), is that you have to click the “view website” tab on the TXP admin side to view your website… or otherwise load the TXP website in the same browser session where you’re logged in on the TXP admin side, otherwise you will get the 503 error. Simply having two separate browser windows open, one for the admin side and one for the public side, will not work.
Lee, try Firefox.
If it’s not working, please check in your browser if the ‘rvm_maintenance’ cookie is set and if so, how many of such cookies are set. There should be only one. If there’s more than one, clear them all, and visit a tab on the admin side. Logging out/in is not needed.

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
Just a quick word. I noticed that when the plug-in is activated, in Diagnostics it throws up a “Clean URL test failed.” notice. If switched off the notice goes away and I get a clean bill of health. I haven’t noticed that it is actually affecting clean URLs but then I haven’t created any sections yet on the site I’m working on. If I have a problem I’ll get back.

It only affects the ‘clean url’ test in diagnostics, not the actual clean urls.

Thanks. As it happens I have just created a section on this new site and I’m not having any problems with it.

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
Ruud, I am using the View Site tab… It is very strange, because it works with another site that is on the same server. Both sites are using 4.0.5 and v0.3. I don’t know where to look to find the difference between these two situations.
Edit: I will try disabling other plugins to see if one of those is interfering.
Edit 2: Disabling all other plugins did not make any difference :( What else can I do?

Re: rvm_maintenance (v0.5)
Sorry to keep bugging you Rudd, but I’m using this on a site (English/French) using MLP and have problems. When first switching to the French part of the site all is fine, but when I then click on a French menu link I get maintenance page. You’re welcome to the site login if that would help.
Thanks,
Lee
