Set up registration and login pages

I would like to set up a website so that visitors can register and login. They would then have access to certain areas of the site. Is there a way to do this with Textpattern?

Re: Set up registration and login pages

Hi, need the same thing. I have installed both plugins.
I understand that mem_seft_register is for visitors to register, but I dont know how to set up a login form so that that registered users can log in to the specific area of the site.
What should I use for that?

Edit: ok, I found it: <txp:ign_show_login />

Now just dont know how to select which sections require login to view the content?

Re: Set up registration and login pages

Have to say, for a newbee like me this is to complicated.
I know how to set up a login form for visitors to register, and a login form for loging in, just dont know how to tell which sections can register user visit.
Is there any easier way to do this?

You have to wrap the content with <txp:ign_if_logged_in> in your forms and page templates. You can’t just set the section which to protect with login, but instead you have to wrap the content which is used for that specific section.

Cheers!

Re: Set up registration and login pages

Hi. I too am trying to set up a registration and login. I’ve loaded mem_self_register, mem_form, and ign_password_protect. Does anyone have an completed example content tags that I could use? Or, is there any step-by-step instructions available?

Thanks so much,
