Warning: Cannot modify header information

Since a few days my website shows following error on every page:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/thijsman/public_html/images/bIank.gif:3) in /home/thijsman/public_html/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php on line 1242

Today I tried to log in to fix this problem, but it seems that i can only access the article page, anything else gets me back to login.
Also, while logged in, I get more of these errors:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/thijsman/public_html/images/bIank.gif:3) in /home/thijsman/public_html/textpattern/include/txp_auth.php on line 147

My backups are a little old, so I was hoping anyone here knows how to fix this.

what exactly is that biank.gif file? its not an image and looks to be filled with php instead. and you also have a /thumbs and /thumbs0 directory within your image directory containing some odd, questionable material..

wow i just realized i can view all of your directories…

better wait till someone knowledgable in security or a developer reads this..

I guess your right …
None of the those 2 maps nor the biank.gif are mine.
I’ve deleted them, and am now looking where there’s a reference to the gif.

Any hope on fixing this, or should i better start from a clean install?

Edit:
He must have overwritte the .htaccess too. I’m screwed :(

Ok, i’ve been able to login now, by replacing the gif with an empty file.
I’m now resetting all passwords, upgrading to latets version, resetting passwords again and checking security.

It could be that you had unwanted visitor named hacker – it seems that thought, if you had a files that don’t belong to you.

My website was indeed hacked, but I think it was rather a simple bot.
Not mutch damage has been done …

I’ve updated now to most recent version of Textpattern, reset all passwords and added a .htaccess in all dirs.
Hope that solves the security issues …
