Help using stm_article_order?

Ok, after several hours of trying to just get Textpattern to work on my server…I am now trying to manipulate it to do what I need it to do…

Here’s my issue.

I am writing an online novel. This means that I need to designate the order of my articles in a specific way, to read more like a chaptered book, as opposed to a blog. Ive downloaded and installed “stm_article_order”…and it works. However (and here comes the newbie part!)…

It says:

As a last step of the installation you’ll have to add the following attribute to your txp:article tag:

<txp:article sort="position asc" />

What the heck? Where is this txp:article tag? I know…its likely a really dumb question, but I am brand new to this…

Thanks for any help!

(Edit: updated discussion topic. -Mary)

Re: Help using stm_article_order?

log in, go to presentation -> pages and (assuming you’re using the default theme) within the markup you’ll probably see a <txp:article /> tag in there. change it to <txp:article sort="position asc" /> attribute to it and you should be good.

Re: Help using stm_article_order?

Thanks for the good luck…and to let you know, yes it worked great!

I finally found the tag and it had the article limit set to 5. I just changed it to the one specified here and my articles list as I direct them to through the plugin.

Thanks again for the quick response!
