All
just back from a trip abroad so sorry for the delay in replying to this.
I just posted the compressed version of the plugin on the Pack’s homepage for anyone experiencing Edemay’s syndrome.

Hi Ultramega,
Yes, that sounds like a good idea. Consider it added to the feature request list — but let it be known that I am not, currently, working on this.

I’m working on your feature request now.
All
I’m also making the snippet > search optionally target only the publicly available strings — should help prevent the selection of admin-only strings as snippets in your pages and forms.

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
All
Collect the latest release from the pack’s homepage
Thanks to Ultramega’s request, this version adds a ‘clone by id’ preference to the MLP > Preferences. Set that to “yes” and you’ll then get an extra form at the top of the articles table that allows you to enter any valid rendition id and start the cloning process as soon as you hit the “go” button.
It also adds a ‘limit search to public strings’ option. Setting this to “yes” will make the snippet > search tab do its searches only against publicly available strings. This means you won’t waste time using the search feature to choose strings for your pages/forms that cannot be displayed on the public interface.
Note: this version includes several updated and new strings. If they don’t appear as they should on your installation, please feedback here.
Edited to add: This is the first build to include the l10n.txt plugin in compressed format by default.

One question before I give an answer…
Do you want to run a tri-lingual site with the MLP pack or are you wanting three translations of the ZCR strings for three mono-lingual sites?

I have deleted the plugin files and installed them again and I also updated all my templates. Problem seems to be fixed.
However there is still a blank line before my doctype but it is not causing any validation errors.
(I was editing my post at the same time as you were posting a reply in the other thread)

Ok, is that on a public facing website? If so can I wget the page and try searching the sources for the byte pattern that’s appearing on the first line?
Also, if you have the inclination, you could try the exercise I suggested in the other thread to try and eliminate plugin compression as the culprit.
Many thanks,

First of all, Tks for your reply Steve.
Yes, I’m trying to use ZCR within a tri-lingual website with your [very best] MLP pack. I’d changed all the ZCR strings for that, but I can’t render the corresponding labels into the 3 translations (i.e. Name, Phone and so on…).
Cheers,

You’ll probably need to use the snippet feature on your form that has the zem_contact tags in it.
Could you post your form here and I’ll take a look.

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
Oops, Steve! I don’t use a form for my contact mailer : I’d put it directly into a page :(
BTW, here is the content :
<div id="contact"> <h1><txp:text item="Contact_H1" /></h1> <txp:zem_contact to="contact@mysite.com"> <p> <txp:text item="Votre" /> <txp:zem_contact_text break="" required="0" label="Nom" /></p> <p><span class="hot">*</span> <txp:text item="Votre" /> <txp:zem_contact_email label="E-mail" break="" /></p> <p> <txp:text item="Votre" /> <txp:zem_contact_text label="Téléphone" min=7 max=15 break="" /></p> <p><span class="hot">*</span> <txp:text item="Votre" /> <txp:zem_contact_textarea label="Message" required="1" break="br" /></p> <p id="anti-spam"><span class="hot">*</span> <txp:text item="Anti-spam" /><br /><txp:zem_contact_checkbox label="Je suis un être humain" /><br /> <span id="info-spam"><txp:text item="Check" /></span></p> <p><txp:zem_contact_submit label="Envoyer" /></p> <p><span class="hot">*</span> <txp:text item="Obligatoire" /></p> </txp:zem_contact> </div> <!-- /contact -->

We can sort this out quite easily using the ##snippet## format. It’s time for me to put my daughter to bed so I’ll have to delay posting a reply for an hour or so.

Re: MLP - The Multi-Lingual Publishing Pack
Patrick
This should do the trick…
- Make sure you have
Content > MLP > Preferences > Inline editing of pages and formsset to “Yes”. If not, set it to yes and save the preferences (Don’t miss that bit!) - Navigate to
Content > MLP > Snippets > Pagesand click on the page that has your ZCR tags in it. - Look at the middle column. The second link down should read “Edit Page: your_page »” — click that link and your page will appear in a textarea in the right-hand column.
- Change all the
label="blahblah"(etc) over tolabel="##a_snippet_id##"— note each snippet id (the string within the##...##block) should be different. When you save this page you will create new strings in the txp_lang table using those names. - You should probably give your new strings meaningful names based on your primary language: French. (ie. Change
<txp:zem_contact_text break="" required="0" label="Nom" />to<txp:zem_contact_text break="" required="0" label="##zcr_label_nom##" />) - Change the rest of the labels using whatever scheme you come up with above.
- Save the form.
Saving the form will cause all the new zcr_label_ strings to appear as “snippets” in the middle column.
Now you can click on each snippet in turn to edit each rendition.
Should be easy.
