Orca Search integration: database error
I’m attempting to integrate Orca Search with a Textpattern site, and am receiving a database error: “Could not establish a connection to the database.” The author of Orca Search says that this isn’t an error that his script produces, and from looking at the language file he seems to be correct.
The integration I’m attempting is very simple: a “search” page template, with the search script’s includes nested within <txp:php>
tags. Can anyone tell me what might be going wrong here? Orca Search’s author suggested that a variable name conflict might be to blame.
If it’s any help, here’s the relevant thread on the Orca forum. There’s a screenshot of the error (which is always accompanied by an italicized comma) in this post. I’ve just posted a follow-up message there, asking for a list of the script’s global variables. Hopefully that can narrow things down somewhat.

Re: Orca Search integration: database error
“Could not establish a connection to the database.” is contained in Orca’s language file. See ../os2/body.xhtml.lang.txt, line #20.
Textpattern would show a very basic HTML page with a centered “Database unavailable.” message in case it lost its database connection or used wrong credentials.

Re: Orca Search integration: database error
Well, that’s what I get for only looking in lang.txt. [facepalm]
Thanks, wet.
