disable comment expiration?

The ability to leave comments expires after a short time and I can’t find anything in the prefs to change it. How can I disable comment expiration altogether?

Re: disable comment expiration?

There should be an option “never” in the disabled after drop down.

Re: disable comment expiration?

Go to Admin -> Preferences -> Comments -> Disable After = Never.

Looks like I was just too slow.

Re: disable comment expiration?

TXP / Preferences / Basic / Comments / Disabled after: Never. and in single articles: TXP / Write / More / Timestamp. You might have to change expiration dates of already submitted articles.

Cheers!

Edit. Seems that I was also too slow.

Re: disable comment expiration?

Thanks folks. You all are fast!

I’m afraid I don’t have that option. Perhaps my version of Textpattern is too old?
Textpattern version: 4.0.4 (r1956)

The tabs under Admin are as follows:
Diagnostics Preferences Users Visitor Logs Plugins Import

and under Preferences, three tabs:
Basic Advanced Language

The only related options are:
Basic: Accept comments?
Advanced: Req user’s name?
Advanced: Req user’s email?

You should always make sure your instalation is up to date. ;)

Re: disable comment expiration?

Sorry Sono…I’m well aware that I should keep everything up to date, but that’s just not feasible. I know it’s a security risk, but that’s the risk I take on low-profile sites.

It was indeed a problem with the older version.
http://textpattern.com/weblog/294/textpattern-405-released -see: “disappearing comment preferences in certain circumstances”

I had to do a hard refresh after making the code change, but now this preference shows up.

Thanks for the responses.
