Re: [request] Old plugins that need remakes?

I agree about Albumpattern. When I was looking around for what CMS to use, it was the development of AP that made me choose TXP. It looked really good.

Photopattern is still available as well, which is interesting.

Seems to me, this abandoned code is a great opportunity to develop a gallery plugin because much of the work has already been done.
Then again, it might be better for a coder to start from the beginning instead of modifying existing work?

Re: [request] Old plugins that need remakes?

If anybodies interested, I still have the last version of the Albumpattern plugin on my PC before the author pulled it from his website. The concept behind it was brilliant, but I often found the installation to be buggy and awkward. I kept receiving lots of error messages, even though it appeared to work afterwards.

Housecleaning.

In the past I occasionally searched for and downloaded plugins only to find out later that they had been integrated into the then current version of txp.

Also some plugins that might have been abandoned are still worth keeping alive.

yes but i havent noticed anyone doing any ‘cleaning’ or mentioning they would take an abandoned plugin over.

if that were the intent of the thread (to find volunteers to do remakes) then sure! depends on the plugin though (if its something within my skill level). my php is rather minimal but i’m trudging along anyway. currently i’m working on this plugin but i wouldn’t mind a few more for practice.

Go for it then. :)

The purpose of the thread was to see what stuff is decrepit but is still very much wanted/needed. So new/existing plugin devs can see if they want to adopt one or another.
