wet_parachute: "Warn before close" for the content > write screen
wet_parachute is a plugin which enhances the “content > write” screen.
Have you ever lost one of your articles because you inadvertently closed your browser window or navigated away from the article edit screen without saving your changes? wet_parachute issues a warning on such occasions.
Adding yet another convenience, it restores the caret position after an intermediate save action and thus allows you to continue typing at the last insertion point without having to scroll to your last editing position whenever you save an article.

Mostly when Firefox crashes with too many tabs open ;-) Lucky I’m a save-a-holic.

Oh now that I like. Nice one, wet. Downloading now.

You da man. Was thinking the same thing, but was still trying to wrap my brain around the way Textpattern does… stuff.

nice plugin. also the name is pretty clever :)
FYI: works in safari 3 but it doesn’t restore the caret position. not a big deal for me just wanted to let you know…

Thanks, Sven. I’ve updated the documentation accordingly.

v0.4 fixes a bug which caused spurious warnings with articles containing non-Latin characters.

v0.5 removes one spurious warning which occured whenever an article was saved for the very first time and the article screen was subsequently closed or left.

I can’t understand why the following is happening:
in a TXP 4.0.6 + MLP (not sure if it is related), in one particular article, after hitting “Save” and then not doing any other change, the “Are you sure?” pop-up appears…
This doesn’t seem to happen for other articles in the same installation.

Re: wet_parachute: "Warn before close" for the content > write screen
That’s a known symptom. I’m not quite sure about the reason, but I suspect that this happens with certain articles, as Textpattern tries to remove trailing white space at the end of the article during a save operation, while wet_parachute still sees even blank lines at the end.
I have one article on my own sites which exhibits this behaviour and will use this to aid debugging, but this task is still waiting for a time slot.

wet_parachute v0.6 works with Textpattern 4.0.7.

What’s the best way to customize the error message? I’d like to provide a little more than “Are you sure”.
