add spellcheck="true" to all article input fields

mozilla has spellchecker ability. So as stated on:
http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Controlling_spell_checking_in_HTML_forms

please add spellcheck=“true” to all input fields and textareas in the write article section

This is neither cross-browser nor W3C standards compliant, is it?

You should yourself just activate Firefox spellchecker and that’s it. Firefox > Options/Edit > Advanced > Use spell check as I typo or just use above textarea click secondary mouse button and select Spell check this field.

Cheers!

To answer your question Robert: no, it isn’t.

As Jukka points out, you can just turn on spellcheck, so I don’t see why we would want to do this anyway. :)

And spell checking is turned ON by default on all platforms.

Is it? With my Firefox install it was off, but in another installation it was defaultly on. So, you can’t just say like it’s on by default, as with different versions it’s set differently by default. And whatever you even mean with platforms. Browsers? OS? Different browser have different settings also.

Cheers!

Re: add spellcheck="true" to all article input fields

Is anyone aware of the implementation progress regarding spellcheck="true" in other browsers like WebKit, Opera?

Re: add spellcheck="true" to all article input fields

I think it is sensible to leave enabling spelchekking up to each user and her browser preferences, and have instead turned off spellchecking for text areas which would never stand any orthography test.
