Maybe it's just me but...
Couple of things — and this might just be my expectations…
First: I have http://forum.textpattern.com/search.php?action=show_24h
bookmarked and have been using it for a long time. But I just noticed there is a difference in what it outputs based on my login status.
If I’m logged in, the output includes my posts in the Troubleshooting forum. If I’m not logged in those same posts are omitted from the list. As I often check the latest using the 24h report without logging-in some replies to posts are slipping past when I use this method. (Of course, the forum notifications email is still working though.)
Secondly: Some of the forums in various categories can’t be seen at all when logged out.
Textpattern
is missing theDevelopment
forum with all of its children.Assistance
is missing theTroubleshooting
and family.
AFAIK, the others are all present and correct.
Is this the correct behaviour?
Edited to add: This also means that feed based sites like Txpnow.com don’t pickup these forum posts.
Regards,

Some forums are obviously closed to Guests, so if you’re not looged in, you won’t see them. All the searches and extern.php, which is used for feeds, honors backend view permissions.

Bert
thanks for the fast reply. I can understand keeping some forums closed to guests, makes sense.

Sorry, not sure I got that 100%. So if I’m not logged in but doing the 24hr search as a guest, I’ll not see my posts in those forums right? (Yeah, must be to fit with denying guests access to those forums.)
