"forgot your password?"

this isnt really a ‘feature’ request as it is mainly a basic necessity that may have been overlooked somehow.

from this thread, i’d like to request a plugin that simply allows a user to reset their password (via emailing confirmation and then resetting) from a ‘forgot your password?’ type link at the txp admin login page. i’m told theres no actual way to retrieve a password since its not actually ‘stored’ but can be reset by way of a plugin.

at the time being the only way to reset a password is via dealing with mysql queries which im sure to many of us is of no consequence. but to an end-user, this would seem rather infuriating! (as i’ve experienced recently with a client. eep).

if no plugin, i hope something like this would be directly set into txp core in the near future.

Re: "forgot your password?"

It’s certainly something that should be done in core.
I think we should require the user to enter his/her email address and username to be able to reset a password.

Re: "forgot your password?"

the main problem I see with resetting the password is people just going to the txp login and using the feature. I agree with ruut that login and email fields could provide the answer to this.

yeh thats why i mentioned a confirmation method via email (as in they have to click on a generated url within the sent email to authorize the reset).
