What if you need to create a non-TXP page?

I’m talking about a page that you DON’T want to make within Textpattern using forms, but perhaps in your cPanel, ect. Another reason why one would want to do this is if they uploaded a script.

How would one go about doing this? I obviously tried & it took me to a TXP 404 page.

That’s what I did. I made it in cPanel, but it redirected me to my TXP’s 404 page instead.

Use your FTP program to check if the page really exists where it should be, because if it did exist, you would not see the TXP 404 page.

Re: What if you need to create a non-TXP page?

I did!

I uploaded a script & tried to go to the index page, but again, it took me to the 404. I also have Textpattern installed as the main site, so that might be the problem.

Is there any way around this?

You uploaded a script? What script, and whole cpanel thing makes no sense. First create subdirectory or other named than index to your public-directory. And remember the syntax .php, .htm, .shtml, .html. or something else, that you can view the correct non-txp-page.

In example: create subdirectory inside your public_html and upload there index.php-file… then you can a access it by http://domain.com/subdirectory/

I just wonder how you can’t get it work…

No, it shouldn’t be a problem, in any case. You can easily create non-txp pages to same webspace as where Textpattern is.

Cheers!

That’s what I did, but it works now. Not sure what happened before, but that was weird.
