Thanks for the suggestion. Is there any instructions to mem_multifile_upload. I would l.ike to take a look before I install the plug in. Just to know what I am getting myself into. :)

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Hi Eric, any updates on the plugin? I am updating some sites and the 412 errors mean I can’t use the plugin on TXD servers.
Also – I notice (on a non-TXD server) that when choosing to create thumbnails, the quality of the thumbnails is very poor, compared with the default TXP thumbs. At the moment, I have to re-create thumbs in the TXP image tab, which makes using the plugin somewhat cumbersome.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
The latest version is done. Currently, I’m waiting to see if the next bug-release version of the flash player fixes the http-header bug that’s been causing the security errors for those under mod_security. If it doesn’t, I’ve changed the code so that it’ll reside in a directory separate from the textpattern root, and its in that directory that will have mod_security disabled.
Whats happening with current players is that Adobe issues an invalid http header for the flash transaction, and mod_security catches it, and issues an error.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Thanks for the update Eric. In the latest version, are there any new features or is this purely a bug fix? I have issues with the thumbnail generation as I mentioned earlier.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
The thumbnail problem was addressed months ago, you may have one of the older versions. This release of this should fix that problem.
This next release does have new functionality:- language support
- default settings can be changed via txp
- max upload file size
- image quality setting (0-100%)

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Ok. It’s almost done. All revisions are revised, all code cleaned up, bugs killed, etc etc. Version 2 should be released soon (for $9.99 per domain)
Sorry it’s been taking so long, but between classes and a looming graduation date, I’ve been working on this whenever I have a free chance. (For example, I’m in class currently ignoring a Professor’s lecture over a subject which I’ve heard a thousand times before.)
Lesson’s learned? I hate mod_security. It annoys me, greatly. What I am looking for is a server outside my sandbox that uses mod_security (the cause of that annoying 412/406 error) where I can update/replace files during the testing duration. There’s a free version in it for you! :)
Version 2.5 should be released sometime in June and should remove the flash UI and replace it with a Javascript/HTML front-end. This version will also allow non-image uploads, and may possible restrict file types to user levels.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
It is completed.
- Localization works fully with an attached xml file that can be edited to fit various languages
- 406 error has been squashed (with an htaccess trick that doesn’t disable mod_security for everything, only the flash file)
- IE/EOLAS Bug should be squashed. With some more testing and documentation writing, I should be releasing this shortly after finals (two weeks)
Version 3 has an ETA around March of 2008 (html / javascript interface, flash “backend” embedded into dB (2k), allows more than just image uploads)

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Hi Eric. Good news! Will you be mailing out the latest version of the plugin to those who subscribed? Looking forward to this…

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Well, I won’t be releasing it in a ‘Free’ sense. It is now a commercial plugin. To those whom have already paid, and those original subscribers, they are entitled to the free upgrades.
Otherwise, it’s a $9.99 plugin.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Thanks Eric. I am an original subscriber. Could not use it on the old TextDrive servers. After moving to the new Open Solaris servers, am hoping it works. Looking forward to the release! Good luck with your finals.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Eric, question about the plugin. I am an original subscriber and I have around 5 sites. Presumably I can use the plugin on all of my sites? And – can we expect to see the latest version before Christmas?

Re: Ebl_batchupload
@jstubbs – original subscribers can use the plugin on as many sites as they administer / and or / develop for. There is a strong possibility of releasing it before christmas. It is done, but I’ve been debating changing the flat xml language / default settings file to a UI screen that can be edited directly from t he txp_prefs screen. What I most probably will do is release my current version first, followed a couple days later by a plugin update.
My latest project has has been sapping some of my time is a image-administration replacement that uses a flash UI for image functions (resize, crop, rotate, desaturate, watermark, built-in ebl_batchupload)
