LifeStreaming (and I need to geek out)

I’m back home and as sad as it is, I need to geek out with somebody :). I started working on a new plugin – tentatively called asv_grabber. It’s a heavy mod of bit_rss that allows you to take feeds and import them as articles into TXP. I created this because I use a ton of different services (flickr, last.fm, twitter, del.icio.us, etc.) that I use frequently and have found myself getting decentralized. With this plugin I now have all my information from these services pulled into TXP. It also gives me the advantage of having centralized commenting around all the services. I came to learn that some people have created similar plugins for WordPress and EE, and it’s been called “LifeStreaming”. I hope to release the plugin once I can hash out a couple things:

1) What’s the best interface? At first I thought I would make a backend interface, but the problem is that I have to run a cronjob to update the feeds and if the page is behind TXP security than the cron job can’t run. Right now I setup a tag to call and have created a seperate page that lists the tags. The cron job can then just call that page.

2) Video services provide an RSS feed, but I haven’t figured out how to embed from the only the data in the RSS feed.

3) My view of this may be to focused on the needs for my services, so what other ideas does anyone else have for “LifeStreaming”

whew…ok geek’d out :). Thanks!
