Re: Redirect Pro
Hi,
I’m in the same situation – I need redirect pro & have written to alex but not heard back – I’d be delighted to pay or donate actually, but just need the plugin. Since it’s GPL’d is anyone currently willing and able to pass it along? my contact info

Re: Redirect Pro
Since the plugin is GPL’d and there are a decent number of requests for it, would anyone be willing to host the plugin (minus the docs), or send me the plugin and I’ll provide a download link.

well, then — here you go: zem_redirect v1.2

Excellent! Now hopefully Alex gets a flood of support requests and a steady stream of new subscribers and gives up the Wordpress fad and returns to his roots. ;-)

Re: Redirect Pro
Gosh I’m grateful!! Thank you soo soo much. A structural reorganization of my site has left me much in need of it. It was hard to believe that it was nowhere to be found!
I would have loved to have subscribed and helped the cause, but I’ll make a donation to the textpattern devs in any case.
Thanks again for responding and posting it.

Re: Redirect Pro
Well, thanks for posting it. In its state is quite un-usable, but more so, the help section suggests to seek for help on Zem’s site, which I guess could be a problem for him and even a source of irritation. Maybe it is better to take the file down or, at least, edit the Help part by omitting the reference to Threshold State, so Zem won’t have to deal with lost users?

Re: Redirect Pro
His website clearly states that new subscriptions are currently unavailable (I can’t see how this could confuse visitors). If this becomes a problem for him, it’s up to Alex to respond to that in any way he chooses, for example by releasing a version 1.3 that does not contain a reference to his website to get help.
Looking at the plugin code, it seems that very little (if any) configuration is needed apart from installing and activating the plugin.
I assume the included help (not the documentation on Alex’s website!), however small it may be, is also covered by GPL, so if there’s a notice included that changes were made to it, one could fill the plugin help with useful information. This would have to be done by someone who does not have access to the documentation on Alex’s website. Instead that person would have to look at the plugin code, grok it, and write documentation based solely on that knowledge.

It wouldn’t confuse me but, you know, there could be some people out there who might be tempted to fire a mail to Zem anyway, and by “some” I mean “a shitload of” and by “people” I mean “clueless noobs”. :)))
If I can help in some way with the documentation, I’d gladly help.

Re: Redirect Pro
Well, here’s the plug-in with a slightly edited help section:
Hope my English makes sense. :)))

Re: Redirect Pro
Um… can you output that as zem_tpl does, with version number, description and wrapped lines at 72 characters?
You English makes sense :)
I’d use the http://thresholdstate.com/subscribers/ URL as the original plugin does instead of pointing to http://thresholdstate.com/.

Re: Redirect Pro
Anyone mind telling me how to use the tag for manually redirecting URLs please?
Cheers

Re: Redirect Pro
Attributes are
to: destination URL, either internal, e.g. /about/, or external (full URL)
from (optional): source URL (I understand that regular expressions can be used here, never tried it though)
type: 301 (default) or 302
debug: 1 or 0 (default)
