I need to find out what username/password textpattern is using to conn
Hello, returning textpatter / textdrive after a long time away.
I am now successfully in to both my https://webmin.barclay.textdrive.com/ and https://mysql.server.textdrive.com/
However, http://onionboy.ca/textpattern/index.php still displays only “Database unavailable.” I have no idea when or how that happened as I have been away (sigh) for about a year now.
I “need to find out what username/password your textpattern is using to connect to the database” – those are the words of Linda from the Joynet help desk who pointed me to this forum where she is “sure someone…would be able to help you.” I hoping so :)

Did you create the config.php file in the last step of the setup process? If so, check in that file for the DB settings. Looks like you did not do this though. You could try a fresh install.

It’s been just over a year since I was actively using my lifetime account (for shame on me, I know) so I would imagine things are out of date. To do a fresh install would I being by going to the main textpattern site and downloading the latest version and following the instructions? Or is there something else I should know?

Just install a fresh TXP version over the version you currently have installed. When you visit the admin side afterwards all the required updating stuff will be done automagically.
