Why is there a...

Why is there a & # 1 6 0 ; before the last word/letter in a title (it’s a space)? I’m not sure if it’s me, or TXP, but I can’t imagine that it’s me. Thing is driving me crazy not letting things wrap correctly.

That’s normal. & # 1 6 0 ; is the coded character entity for a “space”. Something to do with increased portability and viewability of this character on all browsers.

Yea, except it doesn’t allow a wrap of the word after it, if necessary, so it’s causing overflow with certain titles.

Where is this added in TXP files? I’m trying to find it, but not having much luck.

Oh wow, I never even realized that could be helpful in some situations. TXP surprises me daily.

Re: Why is there a...

Why is it being used in the first place? & why only the last space in a title?

Anybody know the file/function so I get rid of it?

Its not a wrap/widow issue, its interfering with a tru_tag, auto_excerpt, title/meta mashup I’m putting together :p

Thanks

Re: Why is there a...

Because if you had a long title or whatever and didn’t want the last word to be on a new line by itself (because it wouldn’t look so great), it would, I believe, knock itself plus the next word before it down to the next line. Or in the case that it’s the second word, just not wrap (possibly this is the first case too — I didn’t really mess with it).

Like Mary said, you can turn it off in preferences > “No widow” (near the bottom).

Whoooosh…
Mary’s comment went right over my head, thought she meant the no widow attribute!

Thanks, fixed that with a click/save ;)

Makes sense now too, just hadn’t ran into that issue before I guess?
Was just viewing some source to check out how my conditional soup was rendering & was Hey, (grumble grumble) where’d that come from? :p

Thanks again

I didn’t know that either! It’s really neat.
