Guestbook/Messageboard

I want to include a guestbook/messageboard on my site – it won’t be ‘comments’ on an article, but a place to list up-coming events/publicatiosn etc. (from any user). Is there a plug-in that can do this, or am i best off modifying ‘comments”? Also, if anybody has used the e-mail obfuscation plug-ins, please tell me if they work well, are easy to set-up etc. Thanks.
