Search not working correctly after upgrade
I just upgraded from v. 1.0 to 4.0.5. My site search is not longer working correctly. It’s formatted differently, gives me only ONE result, and, — instead of a DMY datestamp, it gives my “XXX days ago.”
Here’s my search:

Is there something being called in /txp/index.php that changed and is causing this?

Check the preferences for Date Format and Archive Date Format in your TXP admin/preferences tab.

YAY!! (and duh!) That fixed that date format problem!
Any idea why I’m only getting ONE result now, instead of X number of results?
— Or why the formatting (e.g., Title link) of the search result has changed? (not reading the external CSS for some reason?)

I figured out why I was only getting one result. The page code had … limit=“1” /> in it. No problem in Version 1.0, but caused only one result in 4.0.5.

I emailed the url’s for privacy.
I had to dash off. — So the remaining problem is with the formatting. If you execute the search on the old and the new sites, Ruud, you can see how the formatting differs.

I don’t know what you use to power the search option on that website, but it isn’t anything TXP can do without modifications.

Aha! Finally. Apparently Txp 4.0.5 comes with a bunch of forms that Txp 1.0 didn’t have (and we didn’t add.)
I noticed that 4.0.5 has a form called “search_results.” This form isn’t in our 1.0 Txp. It isn’t being called in my Txp search ‘page’, but it apparently is being called from somewhere in textpattern, and it looks like it overrides anything I specify. I made a few tweaks in the ‘search_results’ form, and I’ve got the formatting correct in the search now!
Just one more thing left. (Last item, I promise!) The number of search results found is also not being displayed anymore (it was in 1.0.) The tag <txp:search_result_count /> only gives the result count AFTER the articles found. How do I get my result count displayed BEFORE the articles found are listed?

Got that figured out, <txp:article pgonly=“1” />. Didn’t worked when I tried it earlier, but worked this time.
