Error page if I use index.php

Hi,

http://example.com works
http://example.com?id=1 works

http://example.com/index.php?id=1 does not work. Gives me a The page you requested, index.php, was not found. message

Can anyone suggest why?

Apache on linux. Textpattern 4.0.5

Do you have the .htaccess file uploaded? If so, try removing it.

Yep. Tried removing but had no change. Even tried modifying it slightly, but started getting error 500 messages.

Find the line that looks like:

#DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

And remove the # from the front of it. Any difference?

Weird. I would remove the .htaccess file completely and ask your host about it.
