Remove Author
How do i remove the author (eg., -admin) from the list and from the article page? Also, how do i remove the date/time posted feature, so it does not display at all?

Maybe I should explain a little more
author = <txp:author />
date/time posted = <txp:posted />
You’ll find that most tags are self explanatory:)

Thanks for that – it makes perfect sense. I suppose i am just a little confused by the whole Textpattern tag system. I have read all the tutorials that i can find – only a couple – but am still stuck for how i would do anything – just can’t get my head around it…
If anybody has the time, i would really love help. read on if this is you…
basically, ia m making an online academic journal – i have a basic xhtml/css design that i am happy to use as a Template, but i need to insert all the textpattern so that it functions easily – or so i assume.
What i need – to have a front-page (www.vitalpoetics.com if anybody is interested) that has about 6/7 article descriptions in two columns, and on click, new page to these articles – each up to 6000 words (which are on their own page but with same template). Also, front-page must have a navbar with links to submit, subscribe (which would subscribe to an e-mail list), and a message board (though this can come later). It is a read only site – no comments except on the message board which is for upcoming events etc. There is also a search articles section. There is only one graphic for the logo – everything else is text.
If you got this far, thanks already. Any help with where to look etc. (i am not afraid of reading and struggling through things – i have ordered Textpattern Sollutions to try and get some more info), or if you just want to come right out and help me make the site, i would really appreciate it. Anything, at this stage.

ok, so i just found this (http://kusor.com/en/txptagmanual/) and it is prety much what i needed to get going in the right direction. Maybe though i need some words of advice…looking at the above, would it be better to have a single template using conditional tags to make the front-page list and the the single article page, or do i use different forms for this – i suppose the question is whixh one is correct/better?

That only depends on your own preference :) I am using both methods for different sites, and both have it’s advantages and disadvantages. I tend to use one page template and conditionals when all pages/sections share the same layout. But it’s up to you. You can also use different page templates, and put code that occurs on every page in a form and call it with <txp:output_form />, so that you can maintain it in one place.

Thanks for that – its suddenly made sense very later last night – just used to xhtml/css and it seemed very strange, but it is coming together now. thanks to all.
