Best way to use Paypal with Txp

I’m building a site at the moment where the client has a maximum of 20 products which need to be listed on the site at all times. He is using Paypal to process the orders.

Would you recommend using txp for this, or integrating a 3rd party shopping cart?

Thanks

Re: Best way to use Paypal with Txp

don’t see why not. each product can be an article. use their article id’s for the paypal item number. use custom fields for prices and etc.

the only issue is that using the form method (where you just cut and paste the form that paypal gives you) for paypal messes up in firefox as seen here. clicking “add to shopping bag” opens up a new tab in firefox whereas it works as a popup in IE. this would be ok i suppose except the “continue shopping” button in the new FF tab doesn’t do anything and paypal has ignored this issue for quite a while now (they say its a firefox bug!)

i’ve implemented a thickbox-type workaround as seen here (click add to cart) if the user doesn’t have js on, then it defaults to paypals normal popup method. both aren’t recommended per say but ehh!

a better example would be http://favorabledesigns.com/ where mr. sable implemented a custom php shopping cart into txp.

Interesting – thanks iblastoff I’ll look into this :)

Is the “thickbox-type workaround” a plugin, or something you have implemented yourself?
