v4.0.5 "Browse by category" not functioning

This is my first try with CMS and textpattern and everything works beautifully except the “Browse by category”. I get a blank page, no matter what category I choose.
And yet the “Search” function works well.
Would anyone know how I might identify where I’ve goofed?
Please help if you can!

I am hoping that I will not have to create a hack for this myself.

I am relatively new to Textpattern and have been on a crash course to fully understand the software. I am trying to build a minimal version of Textpattern (minimal plugins and little to no alterations to the forms) so I can quickly launch new websites. I admit I am using it more as a content manager over strictly as a blogging software but some things just do not make sense.

I am finding that if you have articles set in Sections that are set not to show on the front page but have been linked to Categories the pull-down browse (txp:popup) will not display the articles and results in a blank page. I must also stuff in here that I am finding that setting an article as Sticky is causing the article not to display. My impression was that Sticky would force an article to the top of the front page or whatever Section I placed it in.

I really hope that I am also doing something wrong and we are corrected by someone…
