Could Textpattern do this?

Hey everyone. I work for a venue that puts on 1-2 events every night. As we have it now, I am manually entering and deleting shows every week once the old onces are done and the new ones are added. Ive been looking around at all the different CMS’s like Wordpress, Movable Type, Textpattern, etc.. and hoping someone could help me out. Basically the only thing I want is the ability to post an entry with a title, date, and small thumbnail image. Each entry would be a unique show and Id like to be able to enter a bunch at a time, say 2 weeks, in advance and have them sort by date on the homepage. Obviously something like that would be easy with a blogging tool. Except when a title is clicked, I need it to goto that shows respective ticket page which is already statically created. For example:

Thursday, October 5
SHOW/EVENT TITLE

—————————————

Friday, October 6
SHOW/EVENT TITLE

————————————-

Saturday, October 7
SHOW/EVENT TITLE

I suppose you catch my drift. I have used textpattern, wordpress, and movable type in the past and I think the best option so far is with textpattern. I wouldnt be opposed to hacking up/customizing the code lightly to get my desired effect. If you have no idea what Im talking about still you can check out the webpage it will be used on, http://www.worldcafelive.com. Hope to hear back from you guys. Thanks!

Short answer:

You can do:

<h3><a href="<txp:custom_field name="ticket-page-url" />"><txp:title /></a></h3>

Does that help you?

Re: Could Textpattern do this?

Little off-topic, but if you were building whole site from scratch, you could use expcerts for shown on gigs-listing, and the article itself could have full show info. But this obviously is not what you are looking for. Jmc_event_manager sure is a cool plugin when creating band-sites!!
