Omit or force trailing slash ?
Haven’t found any reasonable answer about that one yet.
What’s better for SEO, omit it or force it ?
On most professional Sites, the former is done. But is there any reasonable explanation for that ?
regards, marios

Re: Omit or force trailing slash ?
I think it doesn’t matter as long as you do only one out of these two alternatives to avoid duplicate content.

Re: Omit or force trailing slash ?
It’s not a matter of SEO, but a matter of semantics (if it matters anything…): The trailing slash is traditionally associated with directories, so I’d expect it to represent and list a collection of individual items (posts, files, images), while an URI sans slash would rather point to an individual item of any kind. Textpattern handles most of its content that way, while WordPress for instance works differently.
IMHO, YMMV, etc. pp.
